Kay Colson • President
Kay Colson, President, is a seasoned consulting professional with a strong background in process redesign and rollout, change management, recruiting, and outsourcing in support of multiple industries that has provided her with significant skills for working with clients: large or small, centralized or distributed, domestic or global. She founded the Operations + People side of RBS to provide services to all kinds of clients.
- Practice is focused on innovative solution design, consultative services, project and change management, and innovative tools for improved program performance.
- As principal advisor to CDI Corp. (NYSE:CDI) she has guided the building of a state-of-the-art RPO practice over 4 years.
- She is affiliated with Mercer Human Capital Consulting, Workforce Insights, LLC, Access Management, and the Atlanta Group of Nine, with whom she works to provide clients with a better understanding of how to measure and manage their operations.
- As outsourcing division solution design/implementation leader and later operations manager for Spherion Corp’s RPO practice during formative years, she received the 2000 Outsourcing Excellence Award, was named 2001 Manager of the Year, and was a multi-year Performance Forum winner.
- She served as principal consultant with Ryder Systems as part of the project team responsible for the overall re-engineering and rollout of floor automation and process re-engineering of North American operations.
- She served as documentation and training team leader for Sysco Food Services enterprise-wide systems development and rollout.
Kay’s experience working for a variety of businesses across many industry sectors, domestic and global, provides clients with a unique service offering:
- Workforce programs – focused on planning, recruiting and retention with clients operating through a variety of structure, i.e., single or multi-site, local or remote operations, global and domestic, etc. through consultation on complex service delivery model evaluation and development on both the buy and sell side
- Process analysis and optimization – initiatives designed to enhance client satisfaction, create greater efficiencies, improve time to market, and reduce risks
- Project & change management – for deployment of agreed upon initiatives to drive improvement
Kay leverages collaborative partnerships to enhance the breadth of services offered to clients. She is affiliated with Jim Halling of Workforce Insights, LLC who specializes in workforce analysis, planning and strategic talent development. Working with Connie Hayden of Access Management, she consults with clients to prioritize, improve, and better control their operations. As principal advisor to CDI Corp., Kay has assisted the Talent Management Division to build a state-of-the-art RPO practice, and has managed both domestic and global operations as needed.
Kay is an active member of The Group of Nine, a collaboration of nine individuals with seasoned experience in numerous facets of workforce management and Human Resources functionality. Each member works as an independent consultant or in collaboration with other group members. Expertise within the group includes sourcing, recruitment, compensation, executive compensation, leadership development, and talent development.
Kay holds a BA degree from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Houston Executive Program. She is a mentor with Path Builders, serves as Vice President for Fund Development and on the Board of the US National Committee for UN Women (formerly UNIFEM, the United Nations development fund for protection of women around the world), and does fund raising for local charities.
